NATA Preperation:
Some specialized programs are also offered by institutions to prepare students for NATA tests and they can also find reviews and contact information about these institutions, if they wish to join them. Many students opt to study for this test on their own, taking guidance from the countless websites offering videos, book names, tips and methods to prepare for the exam. Past NATA test papers are also available for students online in order to help them get an idea about the pattern of the test. Students can use these past papers to practice for the test and to make sure they complete the given tasks in a timely manner.
NATA Exam Pattern:
NATA, the exam conducted by the Council of Architecture in India, has two parts – Part A and Part B. In Part A, students are given an online test to perform, while Part B is conducted offline in which students are required to draw and are tested based on their drawing skills. Mathematics is now a significant part of the exam, having 20 multiple choice questions worth 40 points from a total of 200 points. This section comprises of another 40 questions called General Aptitude which is used to assess the students’ analytical reasoning, conception, relations, mental aptitude and mathematical skills. The questions related to General Aptitude sum up to 80 points in the overall 200 points. For Part A, there can only be one correct answer and there is no negative marking for wrong answers.
In Part B of the test, students are evaluated by their drawing, observation and imagination skills. Part B is an offline assessment where students are required to draw the given situation and must give their solution on an A4 sized drawing sheet provided to them. This part has 2 questions which add up to 80 marks out of 200.
The NATA test requires students to have knowledge about architecture history, material, geometry etc. and also be able to draw sketches relating to everyday activities. They need to know how to draw shapes and objects to scale and must be able to create different scenarios with common items. Serious attitude, motivation, and reliable coaching are the ingredients which can guarantee you success in the long run.
